"Now does my project gather to a head. My charms crack not, my spirits obey, and time goes upright with his carriage." (The tempest V:1)
Mike Dymond is responsible for the management and direction of CARPG, undertaking the plate-spinning act that is off setting creativity and practical solutions. The development of this company stems from an idea of Mike's when he was younger than the average dictator (director sorry: Ed). Quite simply, his first idea was to develop a program that would administer time for his Role play sessions (and answer the question to life the universe and everything). He identified the problem and designed a solution, aeons before certain computer games on the market, and probably even PacMan. From such early ambitions to digitise the gaming industry, Mike has pursued his aspirations for global domination by the accepted practice of running his own company.
Mike was Managing Director of Shift F7 Design Ltd, a web design agency servicing blue chip companies especially in the finance sector these included: Eagle Star, International Life, Threadneedle, Intel and the Royal Automobile Club. He built Shift F7 from nothing to a company employing over 40 people and turning over nearly £1.5m in 5 years. His boardroom experience also comes from being a Founder and Technical Director of Netshift Software Ltd. He developed the early software code for the company, now recognised as the world leader in Internet Kiosk Software. Mike was extensively involved in various investment rounds for Netshift, including receiving a $5m investment from Shell Internet Ventures. His interest in programming has not lessened and whilst no longer attempting to develop 'Deep Thought' (that we are aware) his reputation for technical expertise in the area of web based software is firmly established.
Alongside these responsibilities Mike is currently a part time youth worker at the Shak youth centre in Pewsey, which keeps him very much in touch with what young people are demanding from the leisure industries. A long term Roleplayer and proud owner of an original D&D box set from 1975 Mike still plays when he has the chance; - as long as he can be DM.
